There are countless bookshelves to choose from, but one of my favorite types of bookcases is the barrister. These bookcases were the favorites of lawyers who had to shelf hundreds of books and manuscripts and needed a way to keep their documents safe when not in use.The barrister is usually between three to five shelves, but you may find some as tall as eight shelves in height.Interestingly enough, they come with a door for each shelf. This is the unique touch of the barrister antique bookcase that makes this one of the most popular collectibles on the market.
Other barrister bookcases use glass doors. This is another interesting feature that makes this bookcase unique. So while the door still protects the books and mementos that are shelved on the bookcase, this antique bookcase is designed in a way that it can be used as a beautiful display case for a collection of books.
The barrister antique bookcase…one of the most interestingly designed bookcases in the antique marketplace today.
